In our previous post we told you about the memories of some of our students on their first day at our school in Valencia, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary. There are more of our adventurers who want to tell us something.
The only way to learn a language is by expanding your horizons and our students know this because they come from all over the world to experience Spanish culture. Thanks to them we are celebrating our tenth birthday.
Innovation, debate and technique held hands in the I International Congress of Linguistics Applied to the Teaching of Languages. This Congress, held at the Dehesa de la Villa University Campus (Madrid) is organized by the Antonio de Nebrija University, and is born with the spirit of becoming an essential date in the world of the teaching of languages. In the next video, you can see a summary of the contents and the philosophy of this congress.
Now that we are in December we can definitively say that Christmas is just around the corner. One of the first issues we might have when visiting Spain during the period between autumn and the beginning of winter is that in many places, especially supermarkets and department stores, the Christmas decorations have already been put up by mid-November. Fortunately, the different city councils are a little more Christmas minded and turn on the decorative street lights only when we reach December.
Even though it is only just over six years old, the “Palau de la Opera” has become one of the most representative symbols of the city of Valencia. Its modern, almost galactic profile is recognized throughout the world and has transformed the City of Arts and Sciences into a must-visit location if you are in the Turia area. It goes without saying, then, that it would be one of the star trips of our Valencia school. In fact, this post is illustrated with the photos from one such visit.
We often hear that the Instituto Cervantes is a basic part of the promotion of the Spanish language abroad. But it is very likely that the reader will want to dig deeper in the history of this institution and its labour. We give you some facts so that you can better understand that task.
One more year, the Autumn Official Announcements to obtain the DELE (Spanish as a foreign language diploma) are open. These certificates, given out by the Spanish Ministry of Education and arranged by the Instituto Cervantes, have a worldwide recognition by both public and private institutions, international enterprises and chambers of commerce.
Some days ago, our Football National Team won the Eurocup for the second time (and don’t forget the World Cup, too). The celebrations were constant, and all of us Spaniards came together to celebrate it. Not only because we like football, but also because we feel that the players are an example of self-improvement for all of us.
That is why we have thought about communicating our pride and our eagerness for self-improvement to our Spanish as a Foreign Language students. Take advantage of our enthusiasm and register to obtain the DELE! You know that it means “Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera”, but in Spanish it is also the acronym for ““Disciplina, Esfuerzo, Lucha y Éxito” (“Discipline, Effort, Fight and Success”): the qualities that you all possess.
Truth is that learning Spanish is like playing a football game. Hard training is required, we won’t deny that, but it also has a reward. If you obtain the DELE you will have a title that will certify you as the best in the second language in the world… Do you imagine how many goals you could score in your life at work thanks to this? Don’t miss the chance of being a part of the Spanish Language National Team.
The August exams are very close and we use this opportunity to inform you that, if you are interested, you can ask us about our preparation courses. We will be happy to help you out, but hurry up! The matriculation period ends on July 27th!*.
*Remember the Next DELE Exam Date: 24th August
We have the football champions in Spain… But we also want to have the Spanish Language world champions!
One more year our summer camps have opened their doors. Our facilities in Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Salamanca, Granada, Valencia and Marbella are full with students willing to learn and have a lot of fun for some weeks.
